Who is Augie?

Augie’s Quest was founded by Augie Nieto, who is credited with starting the cardio-equipment revolution beginning with the Life Cycle invention sold to health clubs across the country in 1977.

Augie was diagnosed with ALS in 2005 and has dedicated the remaining days of his life to help finding a cure for ALS.

Augie’s Quest, MDA’s ALS research initiative, is an aggressive, cure-driven effort singularly focused on treatments and cures for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS, or Lou Gehrig’s disease).

We are committed to leading the fight until a cure is found.
